Set your calendars!

So, sure… HalloNEEN (or HallowNeen, etc) might be an invention, but so are plenty of other holidays. Maybe those others have a longer social track record or some powerful mystical belief system attached to them. Or (my favorites) perhaps they signify actual cosmic relationships that in all likelihood were instrumental to the development of human civilization. This… maybe isn’t quite so grandiose.

Regardless, it’s a NEW HOLIDAY simply because we want to celebrate!

Inspired by a swell lady named Nina who was born only a few days after some other, pre-existing holiday that millions of children look forward to with glee because it involves amazing things like COSTUMES & FREE CANDY. Given this fair woman’s birthday being soooooo close to that other costume-based holiday, the obvious opportunity for a costume-themed birthday party would seem to be a natural extension. Despite this proximity, it never really took off as an option.

So, In order to celebrate this very special woman & grant her something that was just out of grasp as a child, it is hereby proclaimed that Hallo(w)NEEN is to become an official holiday to be celebrated EVERY YEAR in an appropriate way as proscribed by both the Celebrant as well as whatever kooky ideas her family can come up with that she will agree to.

As much as this indeed is a celebration of Nina Bellisio, it can’t go without mentioning the Woman that truly made this all happen with her busy, busy hands by building every one of the costumes that inspired this Holiday: CAROL BELLISIO.
