Carla’s Merriment

Fortunately there were no HalloNeenie Weenies at last year’s celebration!
Merriment Embellishments
For those who don’t bring their own costume to halloNeen, Merriment Embellishments will be available to borrow. All attendees must be wearing at LEAST one of the following:
- Gloves
- Wig
- Cat Ears
- Crown
- Feather Boa
- Extraordinarily Long Sets of Beads
- Mustache
If Merriment Embellishments are not worn, the party goer must declare “I AM A HALLONEENIE WEENIE” upon greeting each and every other guest at the party.
Damien Builds the Hype
Pretty Good present, right?
Sometimes it pays off to not have very much money in the bank, but usually not. Good thing I’m occasionally creative. Looking forward to the first inaugural HalloNEEN party–I’ve already got a solid playlist in progress.
Unrelated, here is an article about the history of Halloween. I kind of get why the hardcore christianists aren’t into Halloween, but that also probably explains why Halloween is fkn awesome.

Lorelei’s Mystery Gifts
I liked when Jane got me a present and it was a big spider a big chocolate spider and Damien is the one who opened it. And Damien didn’t know who it was for and he tried to give it to Nina first but then he realized it couldn’t be hers because because she doesn’t like spiders and then he saw that all the legs were in the shape of an L and that was the clue to the mystery and he gave it to me and that was correct.
Sometimes we joke and call it Neenerween.
Addie and the Purple Stars
My earliest memory of HalloNEEN is when I was finally able to cut out the purple stars to hang on the walls. But that was just now, so I guess it wasn’t all that early.
Angela’s Hour of Silence
Every year I look forward to the hour of silence. That’s the best part of Halloneen.
Do you remember the year when we started the ceremonial Popping of the Popcorn and gPop forgot to put on the lid and there was popcorn all over the kitchen! We were finding popcorn in funny places for months.
Carla hearts MSW
I started training for HalloNeen decades ago by watching NEW! MSW episodes on Sunday evenings. Since then I’ve gone from watching televised “reruns” to choosing specific episodes on “dvds” and now I’ve finally progressed into endless background streaming on PlutoTV. I’m not going to overstate things and say I’m going to win the Murder, She Wrote viewing portion of HalloNeen, but I’ve put in the work and I think I have a fighting chance to make it to the podium this year.
Janey & the Cats
HalloNeen was such a fun holiday to celebrate. One of my favorite things about HalloNeen is the playlists, though it is always way too long to listen to all of it. It’s nice to see how much time people put into making this holiday fun. Nina is such an amazing person who cares about everyone. She is always there to listen to things like stories or how my day was. She is overall someone who deserves a holiday to celebrate what an awesome person she is.
Decor is what makes a holiday a holiday so my HalloNeen decorations will be Orange Cats (and black cats! Purple cats!), because she likes cats and they’re cool. If the party venue doesn’t have any cats (that may or may not enjoy the party), there will also be templates to hang up around your space.
